Demand Response Program
West River Electric will offer a one time incentive of $50.00 to our members for the opportunity to install a Demand Response Unit (DRU) on water heaters and central air conditioning units. After a licensed electrician (hired by West River Electric) has installed the DRU we begin managing your energy consumption on average 4 to 8 days out of the month. You must have an average usage of at least 500 kwh each month in order to receive the incentive.
If you would like join other members of West River Electric in the Demand Response Program you can contact Member Services at 393-1500 to set up a time to have a DRU installed.

This agreement is made and entered into this date by and between West River Electric Association, Inc, hereinafter referred to as "West River" and the West River Electric member, hereafter referred to as "Homeowner". The Homeowner agrees to allow West River, or its designated agents, access to the Homeowner’s premises to install and maintain a water heater and/or air conditioner demand response device in the Homeowner’s home. All equipment and labor for the installation of the demand response units will be at the expense of West River and will remain the property of West River. If for some reason in the future the Homeowner wants the demand response equipment removed, it must be done at the Homeowner’s expense and the equipment returned to West River Electric. West River agrees to pay the Homeowner an incentive for installation and operation of the unit that is currently available. It is fully understood and agreed that failure to meet the requirements, abide by the regulations of West River, violate the terms of this agreement because of unauthorized revisions or tampering of the unit, shall entitle West River to terminate this agreement and remove all demand response equipment owned by West River at the Homeowner’s expense. West River retains the right to deny any participation for the demand response program if West River determines that management of that load is not beneficial to West River. Homeowner agrees and understands that they must be a member of the demand response program for a minimum of 60 months or risk refunding any, and or all, incentives provided by West River. Homeowner also agrees that in order to receive the monthly incentive currently available, the member must use a minimum of 500 kWh for that month. Either party may terminate this agreement by giving 30 days written notice to the other party except with the penalties as outlined above for early withdrawal from the program.
